Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first session?

In your first session we will discuss topics you are comfortable with. We review background information you would like to share and your current concerns. 

What can I expect from my virtual appointments?

Virtual appointments will take place on the Jane App. You will receive an email link prior to the appointment. You can access Jane on a laptop, computer, tablet, or smartphone. If you are using a tablet or smartphone please download Jane Online Appointments from the app store prior to your session starting. 

Billing & Payments

Following an appointment an invoice will be sent to you. Payment is due immediately unless you are eligible for direct billing. (Please contact me to determine if you are eligible). I currently accept e-transfer as the only form of payment. 

What is NIHB Coverage?

Anyone who is a First Nations person registered under the Indian Act is eligible for up to 22 hours of        counselling. You will be required to provide your status number at your first session for billing purposes.  

 

What is the cancellation policy?

You are required to cancel 12 hours prior to any appointment. If you cancel later than 12 hours you will be required to pay a $50.00 cancellation fee. This will be required to be paid prior to booking your next session, and cannot be direct billed through NIHB.

Where can I go to find immediate help for distressing thoughs and mental health concerns? 

For immediate, life threatening mental health emergencies you can call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. 

For urgent crisis support you can call or text 988 (Suicide Help Line) or call 811 (Health Line) to speak with a mental health practitioner.
